This year in this prestigious national level fest, Carrom is in the limelight. The All India CarromFederation (AICF) is directly associated with the event. Eminent carromplayers like A. Maria Irudayam who is an Arjuna Award winner (1995) and who has also held the position of World Champion many times will be gracing the sports fest. Along with him we will also have Ilavazhakiwho is also from Chennai and is currently at top in women. She has won International Gold Medal several times, the details of which are given below. In men the current top player is YogeshPardeshi from Pune and he too will be a part of 4-member troupe of AICF during SPREE ’10. It is amazing to see how seriously the event is being taken into account by AICF members. Participants are going to learn from the best minds in the sport, they would finally know what these great players have in their mind when they strike the coins. Also there will be the presence of referees invited from GCA (Goa Carrom Association)itself,to ensure a fair event.Apart from this the event will be graced by the presence of the General Secretary of AICF – Mr. S. K. Sharma himself.
Carrom is not about randomly striking coins into a hole, it’s about patience accuracy and decision making. So if you think your are good then rethink....practice and when you are sure come to this huge event and we will see what are you made of !!!
